As common and simple the zippers might look, their manufacturing process involve a large amount of professional practice such as textile, machinery, printing, dyeing and electronic engineering and automatic control. Therefore, the production of nylon zippers or any other zippers actually has high standards when it comes to professional and technical requirements.
Furthermore, the production process of zipper is involving constantly due to the development of new technology and invention of new equipment. This particular article is going to introduce to you the conventional manufacturing process of nylon zipper that are still utilized in present time.
In general, nylon zipper manufacturing procedure can be divided into 4 stages, that is the former processing, dyeing and tidying, slider manufacturing and finished product processing.
The former processing
During this part of manufacturing, the original materials are made into semi-finished products. Single polyester thread are twisted into a certain shape of a spiral tooth chain. And polyester yarns are sewed into the tape of zipper. The finished products from former two steps are eventually sewed together.
Dyeing and Tidying
The white half-done zipper chain will be dyed and tidied in this step. The semi-finished zipper chain is consistently wound under the winding machine, to be precise, on the dyeing cylinder. Then the zipper chain is put into the dye vat. This particular operation is done under high temperature and high pressure. Then the colored zipper chain will be neaten and ironed as to make them flat and stabilize.
Slider manufacturing is made up of 3 parts: die casting of slider parts, assemble of slider parts and surface treatment process of the assembled slide.
Finished Product Processing
The semi-finished products from the above mentioned steps, colored zipper chain, stoppers and slider along with other accessories are finally assembled into finished products according to the customer’s requirements. The finished zipper will mainly be divided into open-end zipper and closed-end zipper.
